Why I Combine Mindset, Wellbeing, and Portfolio Careers
When people ask me what a portfolio career is, I often describe it as a puzzle. I am a whole person who combines different roles and passions. Teaching, coaching, and advising are not contradictions; they are complementary. Each part makes me stronger.
In a recent episode of the Wellbeing Wednesday Podcast with Elvira Häusler, I explored why mindset and wellbeing are just as important as strategy when building a portfolio career. For me, a sustainable career design is about energy, resilience, and balance – not just income streams.
Wellbeing Matters in the Future of Work
AI may streamline tasks, but it will never replace human empathy, creativity, or care. At the same time, I see many corporate jobs that could be performed in 80% of the current time. This gap is not just about efficiency – it is an invitation to reimagine how we live and work.
A portfolio career mindset and wellbeing approach allows me to combine purpose-driven work with balance. I believe that if we ignore our dreams, we harm not only ourselves but also society. Thriving professionals are the foundation of thriving communities.

Key Take-Aways from this Episode
Mindset Shifts shaped my own PFC Journey
That’s why building a sustainable portfolio career requires more than juggling gigs. It needs intentional design, financial clarity, and mindset work.
Failure as a Teacher
I often tell myself: just freaking do it. Every so-called failure has made me “gescheiter” (wiser), not “gescheitert” (failed).
Flow as Compass
When hours disappear because I’m absorbed in something meaningful, I know I’m in the right place. Flow moments show me where my potential lies.
Courage to Experiment
Building a portfolio career takes patience. Instead of waiting for perfect clarity, I test ideas playfully and adjust as I learn.
Health and Society as Stakeholders
Wellbeing is not optional. I see it as an investment in myself and in the people I serve.
